10 hard-working BUGTAW volunteers transported 253 books, suitable for both teachers and learners to enhance Walang Elementary School’s reading resources.
They also brought along essential stationery packs and snacks, for the 80 students who eagerly participated in the reading sessions.

“WALA” is a Filipino word which means, “not here” or “none”.
Despite the name, the school really does exist in the outermost barangay of 📍Lambunao, in Iloilo province!
At present, Walang Elementary School has 265 students and 13 passionate teaching staff.
95% of the students are Indigenous People, locally known as Panay Bukidnon. Indigenous People from this community typically face several barriers to quality education. This includes the larger distance between their homes and school as well as a lack of learning materials when they get there.
