A wonderful day of reading and fun activities was organised for the children of Agsirab Elementary School
Agsirab Elementary School (AES) is situated 28km from the town of Lambunao, Iloilo. As of our visit, there are 209 students, all of which are Indigenous Peoples. They are taught by 8 teaching staff as well as 7 support personnel.
The Barangay of Agsirab is known for having the longest footbridge in the Province of Iloilo. Many teachers and students use this footbridge to cross the river and access the school. The books we sent to Agsirab were collected through the JIS Book Tower project – a book drive held in Brunei. These books were carefully selected by the BUGTAW team prior to sending them to the AES library! |
This project was launched by Elmer Legada
Currently a fourth year student at The University of San Agustin, Elmer worked incredibly hard to make this project the success that it was! He was also joined by local volunteers who generously donated their time.
