BUGTAW Co-Founder Sienna from Team Holmes with a group
of traditional Lun Bawang Murut dancers! |
BUGTAW is honoured to bring along some good reads and share the joy of reading to the Murut Community in Temburong District! BUGTAW launched its third local community project in collaboration with Project Women. This time working with the indigenous Murut people in the Temburong district of Brunei. |
Following a similar structure to our project in EPG Tutong, we had a group reading of the book “Red Leaves Falling” in order to spread awareness of types of child exploitation and simultaneously encourage reading. This led to a load of wonderful conversations with the children who were empowered to share their ideas and learn.
After a cooking demonstration of indigenous food, including Bamboo Chicken and Nasi Bungkus, some of the young women performed a traditional Murut dance! Thank you Project Women for giving us the opportunity to experience this wonderful community spirit ❤︎ |
